Entry Model: FVG / IFVG
Gap-Based Precision
The FVG Entry Model
Fair Value Gaps provide some of the most precise entries because they represent measurable imbalance in price.
Standard FVG Entry
- •Identify an FVG on H1/H4 in the direction of the trend
- •Wait for price to retrace into the gap
- •Enter when price touches the FVG zone with LTF reaction
- •Stop below the FVG, target at the next liquidity pool
IFVG (Inversion FVG) Entry
An IFVG forms when price fills an FVG and then uses it as a launchpad in the opposite direction:
- •A bullish FVG gets filled (bearish retracement goes through it)
- •Price then uses the filled gap as a resistance zone (it's now bearish)
- •Enter short on the retest of the inverted FVG
Why FVG Entries Are Powerful
- •Measurable: The gap has exact boundaries – no ambiguity
- •Time-sensitive: Fresh gaps fill faster
- •Probabilistic: FVGs fill more often than not, but the exact rate varies by instrument, timeframe, and market condition – this is exactly the kind of number you should measure yourself in your own backtest (see Module 8: Why Backtesting is Everything), not take on faith.
Entry Rules
- •Entry: At the 50% mark of the FVG (optimal fill)
- •Stop Loss: Beyond the full FVG body
- •Take Profit: Opposing FVG or liquidity level
- •Minimum R:R: 1:2
"The gap IS the entry. No guessing, no hoping – the market told you exactly where to go."
