Glossary

A candle body close beyond a previous swing high (bullish) or swing low (bearish) in the direction of the trend – a wick alone does not count.

Two overlapping opposite Fair Value Gaps that form a high-probability zone where price moved aggressively in both directions.

The first structural break against the current trend (e.g. the first Higher High after a series of Lower Lows), signaling buyers or sellers are stepping in.

Two or more swing points at nearly the same price level – a pool of resting stop-loss orders that acts as a liquidity magnet.

A three-candle imbalance where the middle candle's body leaves a gap between the wicks of the candles on either side – a measurable inefficiency price often returns to.

A swing high that forms above the previous swing high – a building block of an uptrend.

A swing low that forms above the previous swing low – the confirmation point that keeps an uptrend valid.

The larger timeframes (H4, Daily, Weekly) used to define trend direction, key zones, and overall context.

An FVG that gets fully filled and then flips polarity, acting as a zone in the opposite direction.

A swing high that forms below the previous swing high – the confirmation point that keeps a downtrend valid.

A swing low that forms below the previous swing low – a building block of a downtrend.

The smaller timeframes (M1, M5, M15) used for precise entry timing and structural confirmation inside an HTF zone.

The middle timeframes (H1, H4) that bridge HTF context and LTF execution – and the practice of reading several timeframes together.

The last opposite-direction candle before an aggressive impulsive move – the footprint of institutional order flow and a defended zone on retest.

An instruction to the platform to buy or sell under specific conditions (size, price, trigger). Until those conditions are met it is only a pending instruction, not a position.

The highest and lowest prices of the prior trading day – key liquidity levels where stops cluster.

A specific price zone (order block, FVG, liquidity level) where you expect institutional activity and plan trades in advance.

The ratio between potential loss (1R) and potential profit on a trade – e.g. 1:3 means risking 1 to make 3.

A fake breakout where price sweeps a liquidity level and immediately closes back inside – a high-probability reversal entry after the trap.

An executed order – the actual buy or sell that filled in the market. The order is the intention; the trade is the result.
