Entry Model: Liquidity Sweep (SFP)
Fake Breakout = Real Entry
The Swing Failure Pattern (SFP)
The SFP is the art of trading after the trap. When price sweeps a liquidity level and fails to hold, it creates one of the highest-probability reversal entries.
The Anatomy of an SFP
- •Price approaches a known liquidity level (PDH, PDL, swing high/low)
- •Price breaks through the level (triggering stop losses)
- •Price immediately reverses and closes back below/above the level
- •The breakout was fake – the sweep was real
Why SFPs Work
- •Stop losses above highs = Buy orders (for short sellers closing)
- •Institutions use these buy orders as liquidity to fill their own sell orders
- •Once filled, there's no reason to go higher – price reverses
Entry Rules
- •Entry: On the close of the rejection candle (after the sweep)
- •Stop Loss: Beyond the sweep wick
- •Take Profit: Previous swing low or opposing POI
- •Minimum R:R: 1:3
Key Filters
- •The sweep must happen at a significant liquidity level
- •The rejection must be immediate (within 1-3 candles)
- •The HTF trend should support the reversal direction
